The Bishop’s Ranch Cookbook


At long last, a cookbook of favorite recipes from The Bishop’s Ranch kitchen is available for purchase! It is a beautifully designed, hardbound book that will delight anyone who appreciates a good cookbook. With recipes formatted one per page and binding that allows it to lie flat when open, this cookbook allows cooks to follow a recipe without smudging the pages with sticky fingers. It is filled with beautiful illustrations that compliment the recipes.

Former Bishop’s Ranch Kitchen Manager, Liz Schmidt, spent hours and hours reducing the recipes and adjusting ingredient amounts so they would be appropriate for the home cook. Liz and co-author, Ariel Ross, also a former Manager of the Ranch kitchen wrote insightful introductions to each recipe with hints for serving, or how the recipes came to our kitchen.

RefectoryFood2A benefit for the ongoing ministries of the Ranch, Liz and Ariel’s labor came to fruit in no small part through the support and guidance of Ann Wilson Spradin, daughter of Ranch board member Camp Wilson, and a publishing professional. Ann guided a committee through the process of finding a book designer, an illustrator and a printer. She also helped work out the requirements to publish the book in-house.
