The Ranch offers the opportunity to renew the spirit and mind through artistic exploration. Guests at the Ranch have access to the Art Center where they will find basic materials, equipment and workspace to explore their creative side. Groups looking for a guided art experience can contact our Artist-in-Residence, Lisa Thorpe.

Our Artist-in-Residence — Lisa Thorpe

ResidentArtistLisa Thorpe is a working artist pursuing with a passion new ideas and techniques. She loves the problem solving aspect that comes with working in mixed media and collage.

At The Bishop’s Ranch, Lisa teaches, shares, and shows her art. She is also a teacher in the schools and community of Healdsburg, having taught classes to both children and adults for the past ten years. In 2010, Lisa was featured in the national magazine Cloth, Paper, Scissors where she shared one of her collage techniques. She has shown her art in the local Bay Area as well as nationally.

The Art Center

  • Groups or individuals can use the space to do their own art activities using their own materials.
  • Groups or individuals can use the space to do their own activities but use art center materials see materials list and pay a materials fee.
  • Groups can contract with Lisa Thorpe to design an art program for your group. This could include art and crafts activites of all sorts or creative meditations designed to suit your group. Email Lisa or call her ahead of time at (707) 431-8489 for more details and prices.
  • Individuals can contract with Lisa Thorpe to do a creative consultation on activites and meditations they can do in the art center during their stay.

ProgramQuilterGroup use of space must be scheduled in advance to ensure no conflicts arise.

Materials Fee

$2.00-5.00 depending on quantity and quality.
